Non-limiting speed charts and speeds selection ATR 72 - 500


Icing speeds selection before takeoff and for landing -
OAT below 5C and clouds base below acceleration altitude (1500ft AGL)

Icing speeds selection in flight - OAT below 7C and visible moisture in flight (clouds, rain, fog, visibility less than 1 mile).

Final Approach Speed (Vapp) = from table below + wind factor or 100 kts whichever is higher.
Go Around Speed (Vga) = Final approach speed + 5 kts or 112 whichever is higher.

Wind factor = 1/3 of headwind component or full gust if reported, but not more than 15 kts.

Select speeds according to weight and use closest higher setting.
If total weight for departure is 19450 kg use table for 20 tons.


Example:

20 ton for takeoff, icing conditions exist:

V1 / Vr = 113 kts
V2 = 118 kts
White bug = 132 kts
Red bug = 157 kts (flaps 0 speed)


19 for landing normal conditions , runway 27, wind 270 at 9 kts gusting to 19 kts.

Vapp = 102 kts + 10 kts (full gusts) = 112 kts
Vga = 102 kts + 5kts = 107 kts, but min. is 112 kts, so use 112 kts
White bug = 129 kts
Red bug = 153 kts
